Fireworks – can you write some descriptive sentences about this amazing display?

Have a look at this amazing video – not from bonfire night, but from New Year a few years ago.
We are going to write poems about fireworks next week, and it would be great to share some ideas here.

Here’s a descriptive sentence I wrote, but I think you can do much better!

Multicoloured rockets roar like glittering stars into the darkness.

    Fountains of colourful sparks, racing into the dark night sky.

    Curling catherine wheels spinning faster and faster until suddenly they slow down and gently swing side to side.

    Crackling fire crackers creating a rhythm of sound.
