Fireworks – can you write some descriptive sentences about this amazing display?

Posted by Mr Sloan on November 2, 2009

Have a look at this amazing video – not from bonfire night, but from New Year a few years ago.
We are going to write poems about fireworks next week, and it would be great to share some ideas here.

Here’s a descriptive sentence I wrote, but I think you can do much better!

Multicoloured rockets roar like glittering stars into the darkness.

  2. year2 Says:

Fountains of colourful sparks, racing into the dark night sky.

Curling catherine wheels spinning faster and faster until suddenly they slow down and gently swing side to side.

Crackling fire crackers creating a rhythm of sound.

Great stuff Emily (and her mum!) I really like the description you have added. Well done also for blogging from home. It works!

  4. Sam Read Says:

    Hello Mr Sloan

    My sentence is:

    Catherine wheel

I watch how you spin sparks of colours of pink, yellow, green and gold!
