Year Two have had an exciting delivery today… CHICK EGGS!!
We have all been to visit our eggs today and we will be checking on them over the next few days waiting for them to hatch!
Please check the blog for photo updates of our chicks!
Share any chick facts that you know and try to answer the questions so that we can all be chick experts.
The eggs are in the incubator.
What is the incubator? Why are the eggs in there?
Today was a very special day! 5 of our eggs have hatched into chicks!
What do you notice about their appearance? What will we do with the chicks tomorrow?
ALL OF THE CHICKS HAVE HATCHED!!!
We hadn’t seen the chicks all weekend and look how much they have grown! 2SE were in charge of cleaning out the brooder so we let them have a run around whilst they waited!
How have they changed from when they first hatched?
2SK enjoyed looking after the chicks this afternoon. We cleaned their brooder, fed them and gave them fresh water. They have grown so much and enjoyed running around in the classroom. They even tried to use their wings to fly! We have loved looking after them. What have you enjoyed the most about having the chicks?
6 week old chicks
Today we had a very special visit from some ‘teenage’ chicks!
They belong to Owen in 2SE and his mum very kindly brought them in and shared some chick knowledge.
They were six week old and they weren’t quite fully grown!!
How were these chicks different to our chicks?
