Home Learning for half term

This half term your home learning is to write a post on the blog, and also to write a comment or two.

Your post can be about anything you like, but here are some ideas:

  • Your holiday news
  • Writing about something you have enjoyed doing in school recently
  • Writing about something you are looking forward to doing next half term

Why not try to add a photo or picture to your post too? You can find helpful instructions on how to do all of these things by playing the videos here.

Good luck Year 2 and have lovely holidays!

Video editing in Year 2

Today we began the process of editing our Jack and the Beanstalk videos. We put together all our hard work from this half term – our storyboard photos, our recordings, artwork and creativity. It is not finished yet, but I was very impressed with the way in which my class got on with the job. Video editing is fiddly and technical, and they really took to it!

You will be able to see the finished product tomorrow… Enjoy!

Non-chronological reports – Planet Earth

report

Year 2 have been working on making their own “non-chronological reports” about Planet Earth. The children have been researching and reading, both on the internet and in books, the things which they think are interesting about our planet. The finished reports will appear on the blog in the next few days, but here is a taster.

Arinagour, Coll. What can we learn about the village from these photographs?

Please add your comments to this Voicethread. What can you learn from these photos? What do you want to know?

Control

Computers can be used to control things. In ICT this half term we are looking at ways that we can control robots. Why not have a go at this fun game to get you in the mood?

Use the cursor keys to help you control the train and pick up tthe passengers.
