Group 10 from our storyboard project are VERY good writers. However, they didn’t quite get to the end of the story today…
Can you help them to finish off? Can you suggest some interesting descriptive sentences or some exciting dialogue? Leave a comment with your ideas please.
Here are the first 7 examples of writing done in 2JS this week. These are part of our storyboard project (see the post below). I think the children did a fantastic job working in their groups of three. They came up with imaginative, interesting, and clever ways to tell their part of the story.
This week we have been writing adventure stories. We have also been trying out a new way of improving our work. Every child has had a little slip of paper with some success criteria on it. It looked like this
With a talking partner, everybody reviewed their story and agreed on what they need to improve as well as what has been successful.
We are really interested in developing this in Year 2 and really want to know from you, the children, what you think. Was it useful? Was it a waste of time? Did you learn things about your work? Did you help others?
In literacy this week we are writing our own adventure stories based on the Magic Key stories by Roderick Hunt.
How could you start your own magic key story? Remember to use interesting description, make it exciting, use capital letters and full stops and to make us want to read the rest!
Here is the beginning of Daisy’s story. What do you think?
We have been reading to each other this week, and Simao managed to do some sneaky recording of Grace while she read to the class. I think she did a great job of making the story exciting and clear. What do you think? If you think she could improve how she reads out loud, why not leave a comment?
